Part of the Greater Winnipeg metropolitan area, The Mint is a neighbourhood within Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Transportation

Driving is an excellent transportation option in The Mint. Coming across a place to park is easy, and most of the street network is appropriate for driving. On the other hand, the public transit service in The Mint is not very accessible. Nevertheless, there are a few bus lines passing through the neighbourhood, and bus stops are not very far away from most houses. The bicycle is a somewhat poor method of transportation in The Mint. Nonetheless, it is an even ride to most locations, and the cycling network is fairly good. The Mint is also not very convenient for pedestrians since very few common errands can be run without needing to use a vehicle.

Services

Daycares are straightforward to access as a pedestrian from most houses for sale in The Mint. In contrast, there are no primary schools and no high schools in The Mint. In terms of food, in most, if not all, cases, a car is required to buy groceries. Conversely, a cafe is typically a reasonably short trip away, and a limited selection of restaurants is available in The Mint.

Character

There is a reasonably good selection of green spaces in The Mint. There are a few public green spaces close by for residents to discover and they are especially well-situated, making them easy to access from most locations in the neighbourhood. Finally, it is relatively quiet in this area, thanks to the presence of very few pedestrians.

Housing

Roughly two thirds of the population of this neighbourhood rent their home while owners make up the remainder. Small apartment buildings are the main housing type, representing the majority of buildings in this part of the city, while the rest are mainly single detached homes. Most of the housing growth in this part of Winnipeg happened between 1960 and 1980. This neighbourhood also has a good selection of unit sizes - it is quite easy to find properties ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms.
