South Pointe

Part of the Greater Winnipeg metropolitan area, South Pointe is a neighbourhood within Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Transportation

The favoured way to get around in South Pointe is very often a car. Parking is quite easy, and the majority of real estate listings are a reasonably short drive from the closest highway. On the other hand, getting around by transit can be difficult in this part of the city as a result of the service's low frequency. Nevertheless, the neighbourhood is linked by a few bus lines, and it is very convenient to get to a nearby bus stop from most properties. This part of the city is reasonably conducive to bicycling because there are a limited number of elevation changes, and South Pointe is home to good cycling infrastructure. It is impractical for pedestrians to move around in this area since running common errands is inconvenient without a car.

Services

Shopping for one's groceries very often necessitates the use of a vehicle in this area. As far as education is concerned, it is a reasonably short stroll to access primary schools and daycares from anywhere in this area. However, this part of the city does not contain any high schools.

Character

South Pointe offers a slower-paced environment and will appeal to home buyers who enjoy spending time outdoors. There are about 10 parks nearby for residents to unwind in, such as Ken Oblik Parkway, and they are especially well-spread out, which makes them easy to reach. This area is also very quiet, as there tend to be low levels of noise from traffic.

Housing

Roughly 70% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home and renters make up the remainder. In this part of the city, around two thirds of dwellings are single detached homes, and the remaining properties are mainly large apartment buildings. Most of the housing growth in this neighbourhood has taken place after the year 2000. This neighbourhood is primarily composed of three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes.
