Grassie

The neighbourhood of Grassie can be found in the city of Winnipeg, Manitoba, which is situated in the Greater Winnipeg metropolitan area.

Transportation

The preferred transportation option in this neighbourhood is usually a car. It is a very short car ride to the closest highway from anywhere in this part of Winnipeg, and it is very convenient to access a parking spot. In contrast, the public transit service in Grassie is not very frequent. Nonetheless, there are a few bus lines, and bus stops are not very far-removed from most houses. It is challenging for pedestrians to navigate Grassie because many daily needs are sometimes difficult to meet on foot. Although there are few elevation changes to challenge cyclists, this part of the city is also not particularly bicycling-friendly as this part of Winnipeg has a somewhat poor cycling infrastructure.

Services

There are no high schools and no primary schools in Grassie. Likewise, daycares are not particularly plentiful and therefore not always within walking distance. Regarding eating, a fraction of home buyers in this part of the city may be able to access the nearest supermarket on foot, while others will have to turn to another means of transportation. A limited number of restaurants and cafes are available as well.

Character

Grassie is a fairly good neighbourhood to buy a house in for those who prefer a slower-paced ambience. This area is reasonably quiet, as the streets tend to be quite calm - although there are still several noisier sections, especially closer to the railway line. Finally, it is easy to get to parks from most locations in the neighbourhood since there are a few of them nearby for residents to unwind in.

Housing

About 85% of the properties in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners and renters occupy the remainder. Single detached homes and townhouses are the main housing type in this neighbourhood. This area experienced its biggest building boom following the year 2000, so most of the available properties are from this time period. This area offers mainly four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes.
