Transportation

Travelling on foot is reasonably practical for property owners in this part of West Vancouver; many daily errands can be run without needing to use a vehicle. In contrast, getting around by bicycle is difficult in this neighbourhood because there are a limited number of bike lanes, and cyclists encounter a considerable amount of slopes. Public transit users may experience few choices in Cedardale as a result of the low service level. Nevertheless, residents have access to a few bus lines, and bus stops are not very far-removed from most houses. On the other hand, Cedardale is an extraordinarily convenient part of West Vancouver for getting around by car. Accessing a place to park is easy, and most real estate listings are a short drive from the nearest highway, such as Trans-Canada Highway.

In this area, families will generally be able to reach primary schools and daycares on foot. On the other hand, there are no high schools in this neighbourhood. As far as food is concerned, home buyers in Cedardale will welcome that a grocery store is always only a rather short walk away. Likewise, a restaurant is commonly just around the corner.

Character

Cedardale offers an extensive selection of green spaces to enjoy, despite its sometimes busy ambience. Many locations within the neighbourhood have good access to public green spaces, such as Capilano River Regional Park, since there are about 10 of them nearby for residents to relax in. This part of the municipality remains relatively quiet, due to the presence of few pedestrians, although there can be more noise for those who are near Trans-Canada Highway.

Housing

About 30% of dwellings are small apartment buildings, making it easy to find apartments in Cedardale, whereas the remainder are mainly large apartment buildings and single detached homes. This neighbourhood has a good choice of unit sizes, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. Homeowners occupy around 70% of the units in the neighbourhood and 30% are rented. The homes in this part of the municipality are quite new, since about one quarter of its dwellings were constructed in the 1990s, while the majority of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 1960s.
