The neighbourhood of Shaughnessy can be found in the city of Vancouver, British Columbia, which is located in the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area.

Transportation

Shaughnessy presents homeowners with the choice between a diversity of means of transportation. The fairly good public transit access makes transit a viable option for many by reason of a few nearby bus lines. A majority of the houses for sale in this neighbourhood are located in places that are also quite convenient for those who travel by foot; carrying out daily needs is straightforward on foot, and a fair number of businesses of different types can be found as well. Shaughnessy will draw active people because it is reasonably suitable for bicycling. More specifically, the bicycling infrastructure is fairly good, and a bike share station can always be found nearby.

Services

Daycares and schools are very easy to walk to from any location in this neighbourhood. Families can choose between public and private schools at both the elementary and secondary school level. As far as eating is concerned, a general and a specialty grocery store is always only a reasonably short walk away in Shaughnessy. Additionally, there is commonly a restaurant or cafe in close proximity.

Character

Shaughnessy offers a calm ambience and will appeal to home buyers who enjoy spending time outdoors. Public green spaces, like Vandusen Botanical Gardens Park, are especially well-situated and there are a few of them close by for residents to unwind in, making it very easy to access them. This area is also very quiet, as the streets are very tranquil.
