Renfrew

Part of the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area, Renfrew is a neighbourhood within Vancouver, British Columbia.

Transportation

Renfrew provides home buyers with several alternative modes of transportation. This neighbourhood has a very good public transit system due to 3 rapid transit stations (Renfew Station, Rupert Station and Nanaimo Station) on the Expo Skytrain and Millennium Skytrain, and a few nearby bus lines. Renfrew is also reasonably well-suited for those who travel by foot; many daily needs can be carried out without having to resort to a car, and many businesses are quite close by. Renfrew is amenable to cycling as there are a fair number of bike lanes.

Services

It is very often feasible for home buyers in Renfrew to purchase general and specialty groceries on foot. Additionally, those who like to eat in restaurants will have a fair number of options, and there are also a few coffee shops in this neighbourhood. As far as education is concerned, parents and their kids will value that wherever their home is situated in Renfrew, daycares and schools are nearby.

Character

Home buyers who prefer a relaxed environment will enjoy Renfrew. Most areas in this part of the city are reasonably quiet, as the streets are usually peaceful - although that is not the case around Trans-Canada Highway or the railway line. Lastly, there are around 20 green spaces nearby for residents to explore, such as Renfrew Ravine Park and Falaise Park, and they are very well-distributed, making them very easy to access.

Housing

Duplexes are the most common housing type, representing roughly half of buildings in Renfrew, but small apartment buildings and single detached homes are also present in the housing stock. This area also has a good variety of unit sizes - houses range from lofts to four or more bedrooms. Around 60% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home and renters make up the remainder. This part of the city did not experience a single building boom; the construction of new homes in Renfrew was spread throughout several decades in recent history.
