Part of the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area, Kitsilano is a neighbourhood within Vancouver, British Columbia.

Transportation

Kitsilano does not require use of a car as various other means of transportation are at the disposal of house buyers. Owing to around 10 nearby bus lines, the public transit network in this part of the city is quite convenient. Most homes for sale in this neighbourhood are located in places that are also very conducive to walking; most daily errands can be run without the use of a car, and a fair number of businesses of different types can be found as well. Kitsilano is a very convenient part of Vancouver for bike riders. More specifically, bike-share stations are seldomly more than a few blocks away, and Kitsilano is home to a reasonably good cycling infrastructure.

Services

It is a short walk to get to daycares and schools from most homes for sale in Kitsilano. Residents have the choice between public and private schools at both the elementary and secondary school level. With regards to eating, a general and a specialty grocery store is always only a short walk away in Kitsilano. Moreover, there is typically a restaurant or cafe just around the corner, for example on Broadway.

Character

No matter what type of character home buyers prefer in a neighbourhood, Kitsilano is a good option. The noise levels in Kitsilano are reasonably low, as noise from streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue. It is very easy to access public green spaces from a large number of locations in the neighbourhood since there are about 20 of them nearby for residents to explore. Lastly, finding things to do is easy in this part of Vancouver. Although this neighbourhood is not known for its nightlife, the streets are usually busy with people.

Housing

Small apartment buildings are the most common housing type, representing about two thirds of dwellings in Kitsilano, while the remainder are mainly duplexes.
