Part of the Greater Prince George metropolitan area, West Bowl is a neighbourhood within Prince George, British Columbia.
Transportation
Travelling by car is easy in West Bowl. It is convenient to park. In contrast, travelling by transit can be difficult in this neighbourhood as a result of the service's low frequency. Nonetheless, house owners have access to about 10 bus lines, and bus stops are not very far away from most residences. This part of Prince George is moderately cycling-friendly because there are a good number of bike lanes. Walking is not especially practical for residents in West Bowl as few daily errands can be run without the use of a car.
Services
Daycares and schools are easy to reach as a pedestrian from most properties for sale in this area. Parents can choose between public and private primary schools. As far as eating is concerned, reaching the nearest supermarket by walking is an option for some, but not all, property owners in this neighbourhood. There are also a limited number of choices for those who value restaurants and cafes in close proximity.
Character
The character of West Bowl is exemplified by its relaxed environment. It is very easy to get to parks from the majority of locations within the neighbourhood since there are over 50 of them close by for residents to unwind in. This area is also quiet, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour.
Housing
In West Bowl, most dwellings are single detached homes, while small apartment buildings make up most of the remaining housing stock. This area is primarily composed of three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy roughly 55% of the dwellings in West Bowl whereas the rest are rented. A majority of the houses available in the housing market in this neighbourhood were built in the 1960s and 1970s, when a large proportion of the housing growth happened.
