Part of the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area, Coal Harbour is a neighbourhood within Vancouver, British Columbia.

Transportation

Coal Harbour is a great neighbourhood for car-free transportation options. Walking is very feasible for residents in this part of the city; running daily errands is very easy on foot, and a very large number of businesses of different types can be found as well. Coal Harbour will also draw active home buyers since it is very suited for cycling. For instance, this part of Vancouver has a reasonably good bicycling infrastructure, and a bike share station can generally be found close by. This area is especially transit friendly. In particular, It is very convenient to reach a nearby rapid transit station, including Burrard Station @ Platform 1 and Burrard Station @ Platform 2 on the Expo Line, from the bulk of properties in the neighbourhood. Property owners have access to approximately 20 bus lines, and bus stops are commonly nearby. On the other hand, cars are a rather poor means of transportation in Coal Harbour as it is very difficult to find a parking spot.

Services

In all cases, a car is needed to purchase groceries. Nonetheless, it is generally a very short distance to the closest pharmacy, which can provide some staple foods. In terms of education, parents and their kids will appreciate that wherever their property is located in this area, both primary and secondary schools are nearby.

Character

There are a few green spaces close by for residents to check out, which makes them very easy to access from most locations within this part of Vancouver.

Housing

In Coal Harbour, almost all dwellings are large apartment buildings, while small apartment buildings make up most of the remaining housing stock. This area experienced its most significant construction boom following the year 2000, so most of the available homes are from this era. This neighbourhood is primarily composed of one bedroom and two bedroom homes. Renters occupy roughly 60% of the dwellings in Coal Harbour and owners occupy the remainder.
