Located in the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area, Cedardale is a neighbourhood within West Vancouver, British Columbia.

Transportation

Cedardale is fairly conducive to people who like to get around on foot; many daily errands can be run without a car, and a good number of businesses of different types can be found as well. Cedardale is also a fairly pleasant part of West Vancouver for bike riders. More specifically, the bicycling infrastructure is moderately extensive. The transit infrastructure in Cedardale is sometimes poor. Nevertheless, the neighbourhood is connected by about 10 bus lines, and bus stops are not very far-removed from most residences. In contrast, this part of the municipality is particularly car friendly. Nearby highways, such as taylor way, are very easy to access from any location in this neighbourhood, and it is straightforward to come across a place to park.

Services

It is a short distance to reach daycares and primary schools from any location in this part of the municipality. On the other hand, there are no high schools in Cedardale. At the elementary level, there are both public and private schools. Regarding eating, the nearest supermarket in Cedardale is typically only a short walk away. There are also a limited number of choices for those who value close by restaurants.

Character

Cedardale offers a great variety of green spaces to enjoy, despite its sometimes busy ambience. Parks are very well-distributed and there are approximately 20 of them close by for residents to enjoy, resulting in them being very easy to get to from a large number of locations within Cedardale. As there are few people out and about on the streets, this part of West Vancouver is relatively quiet; however those who are closer to taylor way or Trans-Canada Highway may experience higher levels of noise.

Housing

Large apartment buildings are the most common housing type, representing about one third of buildings in Cedardale, while small apartment buildings and single detached homes are also present in the housing stock. This neighbourhood did not experience a single building boom; the construction of new homes in Cedardale was spread throughout multiple decades in the twentieth and twenty-first century. This area has a good selection of housing sizes, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. About two thirds of the population of this neighbourhood own their home and renters make up the remainder.
