Part of the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area, Burnaby Mountain is a neighbourhood within Burnaby, British Columbia.

Transportation

Cars are a very good transportation option in this part of Burnaby. Coming across a parking spot is quite easy. On the other hand, the public transit system in this part of the city is sometimes poor. Nevertheless, homeowners benefit from a few bus lines, and bus stops are usually nearby. A majority of the houses for sale in this part of Burnaby are located in areas that are not very conducive to those who travel by foot because running common errands is difficult. In contrast, this neighbourhood is reasonably bicycling-friendly because the cycling infrastructure is good.

Services

In this neighbourhood, families will typically be able to get to daycares and primary schools by walking. However, this part of the city does not have any high schools. In terms of food, getting to the closest supermarket by walking is possible for some, but not all, property owners in this area. A limited number of restaurants and coffee shops can be found as well.

Character

People who prefer a relaxed ambience will enjoy Burnaby Mountain. It is very easy to get to green spaces in the neighbourhood, since there are a few of them close by for residents to discover, such as Naheeno Park and Barnet Marine Park. This neighbourhood is also quiet, as the streets are usually quite tranquil - although that is not the case closer to the railway line.

Housing

Burnaby Mountain experienced its largest construction boom after the year 2000, so most of the available housing is from this era. Around two thirds of buildings are large apartment buildings, making it easy to find apartments in this area, while the remainder are mainly small apartment buildings. The split between homeowners and renters is about even. This part of Burnaby also has a choice of housing size options - there is a higher proportion of two bedroom homes in this neighbourhood.
