Valleyview

The neighbourhood of Valleyview can be found in the city of Kamloops, British Columbia, which is situated in the Greater Kamloops metropolitan area.

Transportation

Driving is an excellent transportation option in this part of Kamloops. It is very convenient to come across a parking spot, and most properties for sale are a very short drive from the nearest highway, such as Yellowhead Offramp Highway. In contrast, travelling by transit can be challenging in this part of Kamloops as a result of the low service level. Nevertheless, there are a few bus lines passing through the neighbourhood, and it is very easy to reach a nearby bus stop from most houses. Walking is not very practical for property owners in Valleyview as very few daily needs can be met without the use of a vehicle. Valleyview is also not particularly bike-friendly because the cycling network is fairly poor, and cyclists encounter a significant amount of elevation changes.

Services

Some, but not all, property owners in Valleyview will live within a short distance of the nearest supermarket. There are also a few opportunities for those who appreciate nearby restaurants and cafes. As far as education is concerned, parents and their kids will welcome that no matter where their home is located in Valleyview, schools and daycares are close by.

The character of Valleyview is exemplified by its relaxed ambience. This neighbourhood is quiet overall, as noise from streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue - however some areas can be quite noisy, especially near Trans-Canada Highway, Yellowhead Offramp Highway or the railway line. Lastly, it is easy to access green spaces since there are a few of them nearby for residents to relax in.

Housing

About half of dwellings are single detached homes, making it easy to find detached homes in Valleyview, but small apartment buildings are also present in the housing stock. Roughly 45% of homes in this neighbourhood were constructed in the 1960s and 1970s, while many of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 2000s.
