City Centre is a neighbourhood within Kamloops, British Columbia, which is located in the Greater Kamloops metropolitan area.

Transportation

Walking is reasonably practical for residents in City Centre; many daily needs can be met on foot, and there are also a fair number of businesses nearby. Getting around by bicycle is also easy in this area as. The public transit service in City Centre is not particularly frequent. Nevertheless, there are about 10 bus lines crossing the neighbourhood, and bus stops are not very far from most houses. On the other hand, City Centre is very car friendly. Parking is easy, and it is a reasonably short drive to the nearest highway, such as yellowhead south hwy no 5, from any location in City Centre.

Services

Parents and their children will appreciate that no matter where their home is situated in City Centre, daycares and schools are nearby. Residents have the option of public and private schools at both the primary and high school level. With regards to eating, getting to the closest supermarket on foot is practical for some, but not all, property owners in this part of Kamloops. A small number of restaurants and coffee shops can be found as well.

Character

City Centre is a reasonably good neighbourhood to buy a home in for those who prefer a slower-paced atmosphere. This area is good for those who need quiet surroundings, as there are generally low levels of noise from traffic - however some areas can be quite loud, especially near one of the railway lines, the airport (Kamloops (Royal Inland Hospital) Heliport), Yellowhead Flyover or yellowhead south hwy no 5. Finally, public green spaces, including Exhibition Park and Sahali Terrace Nature Park, are very well-located and there are around 10 of them nearby for residents to explore, which makes them easy to reach.

Housing

The majority of the housing stock of City Centre consists of single detached homes and small apartment buildings, and the remainder are mainly large apartment buildings. This neighbourhood offers mainly one bedroom and two bedroom homes. The split between renters and homeowners is about even.
