West Bowl is a neighbourhood within Prince George, British Columbia, which is situated in the Greater Prince George metropolitan area.
Transportation
West Bowl is reasonably car friendly. It is convenient to park. However, commuting by transit can be challenging in this part of the city by reason of the low service level. Nevertheless, there are about 10 bus lines crossing the neighbourhood, and it is very convenient to find a nearby bus stop from most houses. Bicycling is easy in this part of Prince George since the cycling infrastructure is reasonably extensive. West Bowl is not particularly well-suited for those who prefer to travel as pedestrians as most daily needs are occasionally difficult to meet without a car.
Services
It is a rather short trip to reach schools and daycares from most homes for sale in West Bowl. Parents have the choice between public and private elementary schools. Regarding food, some, but not all, home buyers in West Bowl will reside within a short distance of the nearest supermarket. There are also a limited number of opportunities for those who value restaurants and cafes in close proximity.
Character
West Bowl offers a calm atmosphere and will appeal to home buyers who enjoy spending time in green spaces. This area is fairly good for those who prefer quiet surroundings, as noise from the streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue. Finally, there are over 50 green spaces nearby for residents to check out, such as Lakewood Park and Fish Trap Island, and they are very well-distributed, which results in them being very easy to reach from the majority of locations within West Bowl.
Housing
In West Bowl, around half of dwellings are single detached homes, whereas the remainder are mainly small apartment buildings. This neighbourhood is primarily composed of three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy roughly 55% of the dwellings in West Bowl while the remainder are rented. This neighbourhood experienced its most significant building boom between 1960 and 1980, so most of the available properties are from this time period.
