Glenrosa

Situated within the Greater Kelowna metropolitan area, Glenrosa is a neighbourhood in West Kelowna, British Columbia.

Transportation

This neighbourhood is an extremely good part of West Kelowna for travelling by car. The majority of houses for sale are a rather short drive from the closest highway, such as Highway 97C Offramp, and finding a parking spot is quite easy. However, the public transit service in Glenrosa is not very frequent. Thankfully, the neighbourhood is linked by a few bus lines, and it is very easy to reach a nearby bus stop from most residences. Getting around by bicycle is difficult in this part of the municipality as there is a considerable amount of elevation changes, and there are few bike lanes. It is also difficult for people travelling by foot to navigate Glenrosa because most daily needs are difficult to carry out without a vehicle.

Services

Families will welcome that no matter where their house is located in Glenrosa, daycares and primary schools are nearby. In contrast, there are only a limited number of high schools and thus they can be a long stroll away. With regards to eating, some, but not all, property owners in this part of West Kelowna will live within a short distance of the closest supermarket.

Character

Glenrosa is an excellent neighbourhood to buy a home in for those who prefer a relaxed environment. There are about 10 green spaces close by for residents to enjoy, such as Webber Road Community Centre and Glen Canyon, which makes it easy to access them. This area is especially quiet overall, as the streets are generally very peaceful.

Housing

About 40% of homes in Glenrosa were built in the 1960s and 1970s, while many of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1980s and the 1990s. The predominant housing types in this part of West Kelowna are single detached homes and row houses. Around 85% of the units in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners and 15% are rented. This area is primarily composed of three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes.
