City Centre

City Centre is a neighbourhood within Kelowna, British Columbia, which is located in the Greater Kelowna metropolitan area.

Transportation

It is very easy for pedestrians to navigate this part of Kelowna; many daily needs can be carried out by walking, and numerous businesses are reasonably nearby. City Centre will also draw active people as it is very suitable for cycling. For instance, the cycling network is extensive. The public transit service in City Centre is somewhat poor. Nonetheless, homeowners benefit from approximately 10 bus lines, and bus stops are not very far away from most houses. However, getting around by car is convenient in City Centre. It is easy to access a parking spot.

Services

In this neighbourhood, parents and their children will generally be able to get to daycares and schools by walking. Along with public schools, there are private primary and high schools. As far as food is concerned, house buyers in this neighbourhood will appreciate that a general and a specialty grocery store is always only a rather short walk away. There are also over 50 restaurants and cafes in City Centre.

Character

The character of City Centre is exemplified by its relaxed ambience. It is very easy to reach parks from a large number of locations in the neighbourhood since there are a few of them nearby for residents to check out. The noise levels in this part of the city are also low, as the streets are usually reasonably peaceful.

Housing

In City Centre, the majority of buildings are small apartment buildings, and the remainder are mainly large apartment buildings. This neighbourhood offers mainly one bedroom and two bedroom homes. Around two thirds of the units in the neighbourhood are occupied by renters whereas the rest are occupied by owners. The homes in this area are quite new, since roughly 45% of its dwellings were constructed after the year 2000, while the majority of the remaining buildings were built in the 1960s and the 1980s.
