Upper Sahali

The neighbourhood of Upper Sahali is part of the city of Kamloops, British Columbia, which is located in the Greater Kamloops metropolitan area.

Transportation

Driving is an excellent transportation option in this part of Kamloops. Most homes for sale are a reasonably short drive from the nearest highway, such as Hillside Offramp Way, and it is very easy to come across a parking spot. However, Upper Sahali is not an especially pleasant part of Kamloops for moving around by public transit. Nevertheless, the neighbourhood is connected by a few bus lines, and bus stops are not very far-removed from most homes. Upper Sahali is not very conducive to those who travel by foot as few daily needs can be carried out without having to use a vehicle. In contrast, this part of Kamloops is quite cycling-friendly.

Services

Some house buyers in Upper Sahali may be able to access the nearest supermarket on foot, while others will have to rely on another means of transportation. A limited selection of restaurants and cafes is available as well. With regards to education, in Upper Sahali, families will generally be able to access daycares and primary schools by walking. On the other hand, parents and their children may consider it challenging to get to high schools on foot.

Character

The character of Upper Sahali is exemplified by its relaxed ambience. Parks, such as Albert McGowan Park and Gleneagles Park, are very well-spread out and there are approximately 10 of them close by for residents to enjoy, making them very easy to reach. This neighbourhood is also quiet, as the streets are tranquil - however noise can be bothersome closer to highway 5a or Hillside Offramp Way.

Housing

About 40% of properties in Upper Sahali were constructed in the 1960s and 1970s, while the majority of the remaining buildings were built in the 1980s and the 1990s. In this part of the city, around 45% of dwellings are single detached homes, whereas the remainder are mainly small apartment buildings. About 70% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home while the rest are renters. This area is primarily composed of three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes.
