Valley North

Valley North is a community in the Greater Chilliwack metropolitan area, which is located within the province of British Columbia, Canada.

Transportation

Driving is very often the preferred way to navigate this area. Finding a place to park is easy. On the other hand, the public transit system in this part of Schelowat 1 is quite bad. Nonetheless, the community is served by a few bus lines. Valley North is not very suitable for walking as meeting daily needs is very difficult.

Services

There are only a few high schools and primary schools in Valley North and consequently they can be a long walk away. Moreover, parents and their kids may find it very difficult to reach daycares on foot. When it comes to food, shopping for one's groceries very often necessitates the use of a vehicle in Valley North. A small variety of restaurants can be found in Valley North.

Character

Valley North is fairly good for those who prefer a quiet atmosphere, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour - although there are still several louder areas, especially around Trans-Canada Highway, one of the railway lines or the airport (YCW). It is very hard to reach parks from a large number of locations within the community since they aren't well-spread out. Still, there are a few green spaces nearby for residents to visit.

Housing

About one third of homes in Valley North were built in the 1960s and 1970s, while the majority of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 1980s. The sizeable percentage of single detached homes in the housing stock of this area is an important part of its character. Roughly 80% of the units in the community are occupied by homeowners while renters occupy the remainder. This part of Schelowat 1 is primarily composed of three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes.
