Northlands

Located within the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area, Northlands is a neighbourhood in District of North Vancouver, British Columbia.

Transportation

This part of District of North Vancouver is very car friendly. Accessing a place to park is generally easy. On the other hand, this neighbourhood is not very transit friendly. Thankfully, there are a few bus lines passing through the neighbourhood, and most residences are very close to a bus stop. It is impractical for pedestrians to get around in this area because most daily needs are inconvenient to carry out without the use of a car. On the other hand, it is very easy to travel by bike in Northlands because this part of District of North Vancouver features a good bicycling infrastructure.

Services

Daycares and schools are straightforward to walk to from most houses for sale in this part of the municipality. In terms of eating, the nearest grocery store in this area is usually only a rather short walk away.

Character

A highlight of Northlands is its great variety of green spaces. It is very easy to get to green spaces in the neighbourhood since there are a few of them nearby for residents to unwind in. Lastly, it is relatively calm in this area, due to the presence of very few pedestrians.

Housing

Around one quarter of dwellings are small apartment buildings, making it easy to find apartments in Northlands, whereas the remainder are mainly single detached homes and townhouses. This part of the municipality is primarily composed of two bedroom and three bedroom homes. Roughly 90% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home whereas the rest are renters. This part of District of North Vancouver experienced its biggest building boom in the 1990s, so most of the available housing is from this era.
