The neighbourhood of Indian River is part of the municipality of District of North Vancouver, British Columbia, which is situated in the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area.

Transportation

This area is very car friendly. Coming across a place to park is quite easy. On the other hand, the public transit service in Indian River is rather limited. Thankfully, house owners have access to a few bus lines, and it is especially convenient to get to a nearby bus stop from most homes. Indian River is not very conducive to pedestrians as meeting daily needs is difficult without a car. However, the bicycle is a reasonably good method of transportation in this part of the municipality.

Services

It is a very short distance to access daycares and primary schools from anywhere in Indian River. In contrast, Indian River does not contain any high schools. Residents have the choice between public and private primary schools. In terms of eating, the nearest grocery store in Indian River is generally only a reasonably short trip away. Moreover, a coffee shop is often just around the corner, and there are also a few restaurants in this neighbourhood.

The character of Indian River is exemplified by its calm environment. This area is wonderful for those who prefer quiet areas, as there are low levels of noise from traffic. Most of the housing growth in Indian River happened in the 1980s.
