Transportation

Driving is very often the favoured way to navigate Central Greendale. It is especially convenient to park. In contrast, commuting by public transit is challenging in this part of the city. Nevertheless, the neighbourhood is connected by a few bus lines, and bus stops are not very far away from most houses. Even though the terrain is flat, and there is a reasonably high density of cyclists, biking is occasionally difficult in Central Greendale as the bicycling network is not very well-developed. It is also very impractical for pedestrians to move around in this part of the city since almost no day-to-day errands can be run without the use of a vehicle.

When it comes to education, parents and their schoolchildren will appreciate that wherever their property is situated in this part of Chilliwack, primary schools and daycares are nearby. On the other hand, Central Greendale does not contain any high schools.

Character

Central Greendale is great for those who like quiet areas, as there are low levels of noise from traffic. Green spaces aren't well-spread out, which makes them very hard to access.

Housing

Around one third of properties in Central Greendale were constructed between 1960 and 1980, while many of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1980s. In this part of the city, almost all dwellings are single detached homes. Around 80% of the units in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners while the rest are rented. This neighbourhood is primarily composed of four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes.
