The neighbourhood of Douglas-Gilpin is part of the city of Burnaby, British Columbia, which is situated in the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area.

Transportation

Douglas-Gilpin will please home buyers that use a diversity of methods of transportation. This neighbourhood features a fairly good public transit infrastructure. More precisely, there are a few bus lines traversing the neighbourhood, and it is very easy to reach a nearby bus stop from most homes. Douglas-Gilpin is also cycling-friendly. There aren't many pedestrians out on the streets of this neighbourhood, although carrying out daily needs is convenient by walking. However, the car is very often the best mode of transportation in Douglas-Gilpin. Many properties for sale are a short drive from the nearest highway, such as Trans-Canada Highway, and it is easy to find a place to park.

Services

It is a rather short walk to access daycares and schools from most houses for sale in Douglas-Gilpin. Apart from public schools, there are private elementary and secondary schools. Concerning food, some, but not all, house buyers in this neighbourhood will reside within walking distance of the closest supermarket. On the other hand, Douglas-Gilpin is a fairly good place in which to go out to eat, and a limited variety of cafes is available as well.

Character

Douglas-Gilpin offers a calm environment and will appeal to home buyers who enjoy spending time outdoors. This part of Burnaby is quiet overall, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour - however some areas can be quite noisy, especially near Trans-Canada Highway. Finally, it is very easy to access green spaces since there are a few of them nearby for residents to check out.
