Mission Urban

The neighbourhood of Mission Urban is part of the municipality of Mission, British Columbia, which is situated in the Abbotsford - Mission metropolitan area.

Transportation

Driving is often the preferred transportation option in Mission Urban. It is easy to come across a parking spot. In contrast, Mission Urban is not very transit friendly. Nonetheless, there is the Mission City Station Westbound and Mission City Station Unload Only with access to the West Coast Express. There are a few bus lines, and bus stops are not very far-removed from most homes. This part of the municipality is not especially bike-friendly since there is a significant amount of slopes, and the bicycling infrastructure is rather limited. Getting around by foot is also not particularly feasible for house buyers in this area as few day-to-day errands can be run without a car.

Services

A fraction of home buyers in this part of the municipality may have the option to buy groceries without a car in one of approximately 10 stores, while others will have to turn to a vehicle. Residents benefit from over 50 restaurants and cafes as well. With respect to education, parents and their schoolchildren will appreciate that no matter where their home is situated in Mission Urban, schools and daycares are close by.

Character

Home buyers who prefer a slower-paced environment will enjoy Mission Urban. This part of the municipality is especially quiet, as there are low levels of noise from traffic. Finally, it is easy to access parks from the majority of locations within the neighbourhood since there are approximately 20 of them nearby for residents to relax in.

Housing

In Mission Urban, the majority of buildings are single detached homes, but small apartment buildings and duplexes are also present in the housing stock. This neighbourhood is primarily composed of three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes. Around three quarters of the population of this neighbourhood own their home while renters make up the remainder. About one third of properties in this part of the municipality were built in the 1960s and 1970s, while most of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1980s.
