David Langstroth, BMus, MA, MBA. I grew up in Halifax but I always had the ambition to get away and see the world â to make my mark. I left when I was 17, on a steep path to a successful career as a professional classical musician, a path that took me to Montreal, London, and then around the world as a bassist with one of the great BBC orchestras. For a couple of decades we did concerts, recordings, films, television, and worked with some of the biggest stars in the industry. People thought I was crazy when I quit and came back to Halifax, but I had realized that there wasnât anywhere in the world that was as good a place to live as this. With the sea in front of us, the forests behind us, and a growing community with universities, hardworking people and the east coast lifestyle we have advantages that are often taken for granted.
