Part of the Greater Lethbridge metropolitan area, The Canyons is a neighbourhood within Lethbridge, Alberta.

Transportation

Driving is usually the preferred way to move around in The Canyons. It is very easy to park. However, travelling by public transit is very difficult in The Canyons. It is easy to travel by bike in this part of Lethbridge because this area features reasonably good cycling infrastructure, and it is an even ride to most locations. The Canyons is not very conducive to those who prefer to get around on foot since running daily errands is challenging without a car.

Services

Daycares are especially convenient to reach as a pedestrian from anywhere in this area. However, there are no primary schools and no high schools in The Canyons. As far as eating is concerned, house buyers in The Canyons almost always have to rely on a car to reach the nearest supermarket. Nonetheless, getting to the closest pharmacy and accordingly some staple foods is generally convenient. A cafe is usually a reasonably short trip away.

Character

The Canyons offers a calm environment and will appeal to those who enjoy spending time outdoors. This part of the city is especially quiet, as the streets tend to be very tranquil. Lastly, it is very easy to get to public green spaces from the majority of locations in the neighbourhood since there are a few of them nearby for residents to explore.

Housing

Single detached homes and townhouses are the predominant housing type in The Canyons. The homes in this neighbourhood are very new, because about 85% of its buildings were built following the year 2000, while many of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1990s. There is a higher proportion of four or more bedroom homes in this part of the city. About 90% of the units in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners whereas renters occupy the remainder.
