Saddle Ridge is a neighbourhood within Calgary, Alberta, which is situated in the Greater Calgary metropolitan area.

Transportation

Regardless of the medium of transportation, it is reasonably simple to travel in Saddle Ridge. Saddle Ridge features a good public transit system thanks to Saddletowne Station on the Blue Line - Saddletowne/69 Street CTrain, and around 10 nearby bus lines. This area is not particularly suitable for walking because few daily errands can be run on foot. This part of Calgary is quite conducive to cycling since the bicycling network is well-developed, and cyclists do not face significant elevation changes. Cars are also a reasonably good transportation option in Saddle Ridge. Finding a place to park is generally easy, and it is a reasonably short drive to the nearest highway from any location in Saddle Ridge.

Services

Both primary and secondary schools are straightforward to reach on foot from most homes for sale in this part of the city. In contrast, there are only a limited number of daycares and therefore they can be a rather long walk away. Concerning food, some, but not all, property owners in Saddle Ridge will live within walking distance of the nearest supermarket. A small selection of restaurants and cafes is available as well.

Character

Saddle Ridge offers a slower-paced environment and will appeal to those who enjoy spending time outdoors. Parks are very easy to get to since there are approximately 10 of them nearby for residents to explore. This area is also very quiet, as noise from streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue.

Around three quarters of the units in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners and renters occupy the remainder. Single detached homes are the most common housing type, representing most dwellings in this area, and the rest are mainly duplexes. This part of the city experienced its main building boom following the year 2000, so most of the available homes are from this time period. This neighbourhood is primarily composed of three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes.
