Transportation

Travelling by car is very convenient in this part of Calgary. It is a rather short car ride to the nearest highway from any home in Ricardo Ranch, and it is very convenient to park. On the other hand, this area is not very transit friendly. It is challenging for pedestrians to navigate this neighbourhood because running daily errands is inconvenient without a car. The bicycle is a quite bad mode of transportation in Ricardo Ranch because there are very few bike lanes, and there are a fair number of elevation changes.

Services

There are no high schools and no primary schools in this neighbourhood. Moreover, there are only a very small number of daycares and thus they can be a very long walk away. Regarding eating, in all but a few cases, a vehicle is needed to buy groceries.

Character

Ricardo Ranch is a neighbourhood to buy a home in for those who prefer a chill environment. Since there are very few people out and about on the streets, Ricardo Ranch is relatively quiet. Green spaces aren't well-distributed, which results in them being occasionally challenging to access from a lot of locations in this part of the city. Still, residents will be able to access parks in nearby neighbourhoods.

Housing

Single detached homes are the most common housing type, representing about 45% of buildings in Ricardo Ranch, whereas the remainder are mainly small apartment buildings. This neighbourhood experienced its biggest building boom after the year 2000, so most of the available homes are from this era. This part of the city has a good selection of housing sizes, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. Roughly three quarters of the population of this neighbourhood own their home whereas renters make up the remainder.
