The neighbourhood of Lakeview can be found in the city of Calgary, Alberta, which is situated in the Greater Calgary metropolitan area.

Transportation

Lakeview is reasonably car friendly. It is very convenient to park. On the other hand, Lakeview is not very transit friendly. Nevertheless, there are a few bus lines crossing the neighbourhood, and most residences are very close to a bus stop. Lakeview is a fairly pleasant part of Calgary for bike riders. More specifically, the bicycling network is good. This part of the city is not particularly conducive to those who travel by foot as carrying out daily needs is sometimes difficult.

Services

Getting to the closest grocery store on foot is an option for some, but not all, home buyers in Lakeview. Residents are served by a few restaurants and coffee shops as well. When it comes to education, parents and their kids will appreciate that no matter where their home is situated in this part of Calgary, both primary and secondary schools are nearby. However, daycares are not numerous and consequently tend to require a very long walk to get to.

Lakeview offers a slower-paced ambience and will appeal to home buyers who enjoy spending time outdoors. There are a few parks close by for residents to visit, making it very easy to access them from most locations within this part of the city. This area is also wonderful for those who need a quiet atmosphere, as the streets tend to be very tranquil.

In Lakeview, roughly 70% of buildings are single detached homes, and the remaining houses are mainly small apartment buildings. A majority of the housing growth in this neighbourhood occurred between 1960 and 1980. This part of Calgary offers mainly three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy about three quarters of the units in Lakeview and the rest are rented.
