Cityscape

Part of the Greater Calgary metropolitan area, Cityscape is a neighbourhood within Calgary, Alberta.

Transportation

Owing to a few nearby bus lines, Cityscape is rather transit friendly. However, moving around by bicycle is occasionally difficult in Cityscape. Nevertheless, there are a good number of bike lanes, and it is an even ride to most destinations. This part of the city is not very well-suited for people who travel by walking since very few common errands can be run without the need to get in a vehicle. However, Cityscape is especially car friendly. It is very convenient to park, and nearby highways are moderately easy to access from any location in this area.

Services

A car is almost always needed in this area to access the closest supermarket. Nonetheless, pharmacies are typically very easy to get to as a pedestrian and sell some staple foods. A small selection of restaurants can be found in this neighbourhood as well. When it comes to education, there are no high schools and no primary schools in Cityscape. Likewise, it can be very hard to access daycares on foot.

Character

Cityscape offers a slower-paced ambience and will appeal to those who enjoy spending time outdoors. This area is reasonably quiet, as noise from the streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue. Lastly, there are a few green spaces close by for residents to check out and they are especially well-distributed, which makes them easy to reach.

Housing

About 90% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home and renters make up the remainder. The large percentage of single detached homes in the housing stock of this part of Calgary is an important part of its character. This neighbourhood experienced its biggest building boom after the year 2000, so most of the available properties are from this era. This neighbourhood is primarily composed of four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes.
