The neighbourhood of Rio Terrace is part of the city of Edmonton, Alberta, which is situated in the Greater Edmonton metropolitan area.

Transportation

Driving is a great transportation option in this part of Edmonton. The majority of houses for sale are a short drive from the nearest highway, and it is especially convenient to find a parking spot. On the other hand, this area is not an especially pleasant part of Edmonton for travelling by public transit. Nonetheless, there are a few bus lines passing through the neighbourhood, and bus stops are ordinarily nearby. Walking is not very common in this area, even though running daily errands is convenient. On the other hand, cycling is prevalent in Rio Terrace as the topography is flat.

Services

Families will value that wherever their house is located in this part of the city, primary schools and daycares are nearby. However, there are no high schools in this neighbourhood. As far as food is concerned, it is rarely feasible for house buyers in Rio Terrace to travel to the nearest supermarket by walking.

This neighbourhood experienced its biggest construction boom between 1960 and 1980, so most of the available housing is from this era.
