Active property owners will also welcome the walk-friendly character of this neighbourhood; running day-to-day errands is convenient, and plenty of businesses are quite nearby. Parkallen is a fairly pleasant part of Edmonton for cyclists. More specifically, there are a limited number of hills to challenge cyclists, and Parkallen is home to a good bicycling infrastructure.

It is a reasonably short walk to reach daycares and schools from any location in Parkallen. With respect to eating, in all but a few cases, a car is required to shop for groceries.
