Evergreen

Located within the Greater Edmonton metropolitan area, Evergreen is a neighbourhood in Edmonton, Alberta.

Transportation

Cars are a very good transportation option in Evergreen. Parking is easy. In contrast, public transit users may find few options in this part of the city by reason of the service's low frequency. Thankfully, homeowners are served by a few bus lines, and most residences are very close to a bus stop. Despite the fact that there are a limited number of hills to challenge cyclists, Evergreen is not very appropriate for cycling as there are few bike lanes. Walking is also not very practical for property owners in this area since almost no daily needs can be met without having to use a car.

Services

Purchasing one's groceries very often necessitates the use of a vehicle in Evergreen. Nonetheless, pharmacies are generally especially convenient to get to on foot and provide some basic food items. As far as education is concerned, Evergreen does not have any high schools or primary schools. Likewise, parents may find it very difficult for their schoolchildren to access daycares on foot.

Character

Evergreen is an excellent neighbourhood to buy a home in for those who prefer a relaxed ambience. This part of Edmonton is great for those who need quiet areas, as there are low levels of noise from traffic. Finally, although the neighbourhood does not contain any parks, green spaces are especially well-distributed in nearby neighbourhoods, making it easy to access them.

Housing

Mobile homes are the most common housing type, representing the overwhelming majority of buildings in Evergreen. About 45% of properties in this neighbourhood were built between 1960 and 1980, while most of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1980s and the 1990s. This part of the city is primarily composed of two bedroom and three bedroom homes. About 90% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home and 10% are renters.
