Part of the Greater Edmonton metropolitan area, Chappelle Area is a neighbourhood within Edmonton, Alberta.

Transportation

This part of the city is especially car friendly. It is very convenient to find a place to park. On the other hand, the public transit network in Chappelle Area is rather poor. Nevertheless, residents have access to a few bus lines, and bus stops are not very far from most properties. Chappelle Area is reasonably bicycling-friendly since the bicycling infrastructure is good, and there are a limited number of elevation changes to challenge cyclists. Many of the homes for sale in this part of the city are located in areas that are not very suitable for walking because most daily needs are inconvenient to carry out without the use of a car.

Services

It is a reasonably short walk to get to daycares from any location in Chappelle Area. In contrast, there are only a few primary schools in this neighbourhood and accordingly they can be a rather long walk away. Moreover, Chappelle Area does not have any high schools. With respect to food, a fraction of property owners in this area may be able to buy their groceries on foot, while others will have to use a vehicle.

Character

Chappelle Area offers a calm atmosphere and will appeal to those who enjoy spending time outdoors. It is easy to access green spaces since there are a few of them nearby for residents to check out. This area is very quiet overall, as the streets tend to be very peaceful.

Roughly 80% of the dwellings in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners while renters occupy the remainder. Single detached homes and townhouses are the main housing type in this part of Edmonton. The buildings in this neighbourhood are very modern, because almost all of its dwellings were built following the year 2000, while the majority of the remaining buildings were constructed 1990. This area also has quite a good choice of housing sizes; there is a higher proportion of three bedroom homes in this neighbourhood.
