Legacy

Legacy is a neighbourhood within Calgary, Alberta, which is located in the Greater Calgary metropolitan area.

Transportation

Legacy is especially car friendly. Many homes for sale are a rather short drive from the nearest highway, and it is very convenient to find a place to park. In contrast, travelling by transit can be challenging in this part of Calgary as a result of the low service level. Nonetheless, the neighbourhood is served by approximately 10 bus lines, and the nearest bus stop is generally just around the corner. Legacy is conducive to biking because there are a limited number of elevation changes to challenge cyclists, and the cycling network is reasonably good. Walking is not very feasible for house buyers in Legacy because very few daily errands can be run on foot.

Services

Parents and their kids will value that no matter where their house is located in this part of Calgary, high schools are nearby. In contrast, this neighbourhood does not contain any primary schools. With regards to food, in all but a very small number of cases, a vehicle is required to purchase groceries. Residents of Legacy can enjoy a few restaurants as well.

Character

People who prefer a slower-paced environment will enjoy Legacy. It is easy to reach parks in the neighbourhood since there are a few of them close by for residents to check out. This area is also very quiet, as there tend to be low levels of noise from traffic.

Housing

Most of the houses available in the housing market in Legacy were built following the year 2000, when a large proportion of the housing growth happened. The majority of the housing stock of this part of Calgary is made up of small apartment buildings and single detached homes, and the rest of the properties are mainly townhouses. Around three quarters of the units in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners while the remainder are rented. This neighbourhood offers mainly two bedroom and three bedroom homes.
