Part of the Greater Calgary metropolitan area, Downtown West End is a neighbourhood within Calgary, Alberta.

Transportation

Regardless of the means of transportation, it is moderately convenient to move around in this part of the city. This area is a very pleasant part of Calgary for moving around by public transit. In particular, rapid transit stations, such as EB Downtown West-Kerby Station (TD Free Fare Zone) and WB Downtown-West Kerby Station (TD Free Fare Zone) with access to the Blue Line - Saddletowne/69 Street CTrain, are not very far-removed from the bulk of homes in the neighbourhood. There are about 10 bus lines crossing the neighbourhood, and most houses are very close to a bus stop. Downtown West End is also particularly suitable for people who like to travel by walking; all daily errands can be run without the use of a vehicle, and a fair number of businesses of different types can be found as well. This part of Calgary will appeal to active house buyers as it is very suited for cycling. For example, bicycling is facilitated by the generally flat terrain, and Downtown West End is home to excellent cycling infrastructure.

It is straightforward to get to both a general and a specialty grocery store without the use of a vehicle from any location in Downtown West End.
