The neighbourhood of Citadel is part of the city of Calgary, Alberta, which is located in the Greater Calgary metropolitan area.

Transportation

The preferred means of transportation in this part of Calgary is usually driving. The majority of houses for sale are a reasonably short car ride from the nearest highway, and coming across a parking spot is generally easy. However, Citadel is not very transit friendly. Nevertheless, the neighbourhood is linked by a few bus lines, and bus stops are not very far away from most houses. Travelling on foot is not especially practical for residents in Citadel because few daily needs can be met without the use of a car. In contrast, commuting by bicycle is easy in Citadel as the cycling network is fairly good.

Services

Both primary and secondary schools are easy to walk to from most properties for sale in this part of the city. However, it can be difficult to get to daycares as a pedestrian. With respect to food, it is very rarely feasible for property owners in this area to travel to the closest grocery store by walking. There are a few coffee shops in Citadel.

Character

People who prefer a relaxed environment will enjoy Citadel. This area is very quiet, as there tend to be low levels of noise from traffic. Lastly, getting to parks is very easy from the majority of locations within the neighbourhood since there are approximately 10 of them close by for residents to unwind in.

In Citadel, the vast majority of buildings are single detached homes, and the remaining properties are mainly small apartment buildings. Most of the housing growth in this part of Calgary took place in the 1990s. This neighbourhood offers mainly four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes. Roughly 85% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home and 15% are renters.
