L'Aéroport

The neighbourhood of L'Aéroport can be found in the city of Québec, Quebec, which is situated in the Greater Québec City metropolitan area.

Transportation

This neighbourhood is especially car friendly. Coming across a parking spot is easy, and nearby highways, such as Autoroute Félix-Leclerc, are very easy to access from any location in L'Aéroport. On the other hand, the public transit system in L'Aéroport is not very convenient. Nevertheless, there are around 20 bus lines, and it is very easy to reach a nearby bus stop from most residences. L'Aéroport is not very well-suited for walking since few common errands can be run without having to resort to a car. Even though a few pleasant pockets for cycling exist, the bike is a somewhat poor means of transportation in L'Aéroport because there are a fair number of slopes, and the bicycling infrastructure is not very extensive.

Services

Families will welcome the proximity to daycares and primary schools, which are within walking distance from the majority of homes for sale in this area. In contrast, parents and their children may consider it difficult to get to high schools as a pedestrian. As far as food is concerned, some, but not all, home buyers in L'Aéroport will reside within walking distance of the closest supermarket. There are also a few options for those who appreciate restaurants and cafes in close proximity.

Character

L'Aéroport is a reasonably good neighbourhood to buy a home in for those who prefer a calm environment. There are around 20 parks nearby for residents to discover, such as Base de Plein Air de Sainte-Foy, making them easy to reach. This part of Québec is also reasonably quiet, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour - although that is not the case near the airport (Quebec City Jean Lesage International Airport), Autoroute Henri-IV, Autoroute Duplessis or one of the railway lines.

Housing

Around one third of properties in L'Aéroport were built between 1960 and 1980, while most of the remaining buildings were built in the 1980s and the 1990s. Single detached homes are the most common housing type, representing about 55% of dwellings in this area, and the rest of the properties are mainly small apartment buildings and townhouses. Roughly 85% of the units in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners and the remainder are rented. This part of Québec offers mainly two bedroom and three bedroom homes.
