Pointe Madeleine

Located within the Greater Montreal metropolitan area, Pointe Madeleine is a neighbourhood within Montréal, Quebec.

Transportation

Driving is an excellent mode of transportation in this part of Montréal. It is very easy to find a place to park. However, this part of Montréal is not very transit friendly. Thankfully, there are a few bus lines crossing the neighbourhood, and most homes are very close to a bus stop. This area is not very well-suited for pedestrians because common amenities such as laundromats or liquor stores can be a very long distance away. However, the bike is a very good method of transportation in Pointe Madeleine as bicycle riders do not face serious slopes.

Services

There are no high schools and no primary schools in Pointe Madeleine. Additionally, parents may find it very difficult for their kids to get to daycares on foot. With respect to food, in all cases, a car is needed in this neighbourhood to reach the nearest grocery store.

Character

Pointe Madeleine offers a relaxed ambience and will appeal to those who enjoy spending time outdoors. The greenery in this part of Montréal is especially prominent as a large number of tree-lined streets are present. There are a few green spaces close by for residents to enjoy and they are very well-spread out, making it very easy to get to them. Most areas in this neighbourhood are very quiet, as the streets are usually very calm.

Housing

The split between homeowners and renters is about even. In this part of the city, the majority of dwellings are single detached homes, while small apartment buildings are also present in the housing stock. Around 30% of properties in this neighbourhood were built in the 1980s, while most of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 1960s. This neighbourhood offers mainly two bedroom and three bedroom homes.
