The neighbourhood of Cité-du-Havre is part of the city of Montréal, Quebec, which is located in the Greater Montreal metropolitan area.

Transportation

No matter the mode of transportation, it is simple to get around in this neighbourhood. Cité-du-Havre is a fairly pleasant part of Montréal for moving around by public transit. More specifically, the neighbourhood is served by a few bus lines, and bus stops are not very far from most residences. Walking is also quite practical for property owners in this part of Montréal; most daily needs are convenient to meet without having to resort to a vehicle, and many businesses are close by. This neighbourhood is quite appropriate for cycling since the cycling network is fairly good.

Services

Property owners in this part of the city will appreciate that a general and a specialty grocery store is always only a rather short walk away. Likewise, there are a fair number of opportunities within walking distance for those who value restaurants and cafes. With regards to education, daycares are easy to reach on foot from any location in this area. In contrast, this part of Montréal does not contain any primary schools or high schools.

Character

Cité-du-Havre is a great neighbourhood for those who enjoy both indoor and outdoor activities. Even though this area is not known for its vibrancy, with the nightlife venues in nearby neighbourhoods, it is rather difficult to find a place to grab a drink since they are generally located relatively far away. On the other hand, the greenery in this area is not very prominent; although, there are a few public green spaces close by for residents to discover, like Parc de la Cité-du-Havre, which makes it very easy to get to them.

Housing

In Cité-du-Havre, almost all buildings are large apartment buildings, and the rest of the properties are mainly small apartment buildings. This part of Montréal is primarily composed of one bedroom and two bedroom homes. Around 80% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home whereas the rest are renters. Roughly 30% of homes in this part of the city were constructed in the 1960s and 1970s, while most of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1980s.
