Desjardins

The borough of Desjardins can be found in the city of Lévis, Quebec, which is located in the Greater Québec City metropolitan area.

Transportation

Desjardins is an extraordinarily good part of Lévis for driving. It is very easy to park, and many properties for sale are a rather short drive from the closest highway, such as Autoroute Jean-Lesage. However, the public transit network in Desjardins is not very accessible. Nonetheless, residents are served by around 30 bus lines, and the nearest bus stop is generally close by. This part of Lévis is not very suitable for walking as carrying out daily needs is inconvenient.

Services

There are only a few high schools and primary schools in Desjardins and therefore they can be an extended walk away. Furthermore, families may consider it challenging for their children to reach daycares as a pedestrian. Concerning food, some, but not all, property owners in Desjardins will reside within walking distance of one of around 20 supermarkets. There are also over 50 restaurants and cafes in this part of the city.

Character

Home buyers who prefer a slower-paced ambience will enjoy Desjardins. There are over 50 parks nearby for residents to check out, such as Parc régional de la Pointe-De la Martinière and La Grande Plée-Bleue, which makes it easy to get to them. Most areas in this part of the city are reasonably quiet, as there are low levels of noise from traffic - however noise can be an issue closer to the railway line or Autoroute Jean-Lesage.

Housing

Around 40% of dwellings are small apartment buildings, making it easy to find apartments in Desjardins, while single detached homes are also present in the housing stock. This borough has a good selection of housing size options, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. The proportions of renters and homeowners are about even. Around 30% of homes in this part of the city were built prior to the 1960s, while most of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1960s and the 1980s.
