Transportation

Driving is a very good transportation option in Beauport. Most real estate listings are a short car ride from the nearest highway, such as Autoroute Dufferin-Montmorency, and it is convenient to access a place to park. In contrast, commuting by public transit is challenging in Beauport. Nonetheless, residents are served by approximately 40 bus lines, and it is very easy to reach a nearby bus stop from most properties. Bicycling is occasionally challenging in this part of the city as bicycle riders are faced with quite a few elevation changes, and there are a limited number of bike lanes. There also aren't many pedestrians out on the streets of Beauport, despite the fact that running daily errands is convenient by walking.

Services

Families will value the proximity to primary schools and daycares, which are within walking distance from most homes for sale in this part of Québec. However, parents may consider it challenging for their kids to get to high schools on foot. Apart from public schools, there are private primary and secondary schools. When it comes to food, a portion of home buyers in Beauport may have the option to purchase their groceries by walking in one of about 10 stores, while others will have to rely on another means of transportation. Residents are served by over 50 restaurants and coffee shops as well.

Character

Home buyers who prefer a calm ambience will enjoy Beauport. This area is very quiet overall, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour. Finally, there are over 50 parks nearby for residents to relax in, like Baie de Beauport and Parc Cambert, and they are very well-situated, which makes it easy to get to them.

Housing

About 60% of the dwellings in the borough are occupied by homeowners whereas the remainder are rented. In this part of the city, about 45% of dwellings are single detached homes, and the rest of the homes are mainly small apartment buildings. Roughly 30% of properties in this borough were built in the 1960s and 1970s, while many of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 1980s. This area also has a good selection of housing sizes - it is quite easy to find houses ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms.
