René Lévesque Park

René Lévesque Park is a neighbourhood within Montréal, Quebec, which is situated in the Greater Montreal metropolitan area.

Transportation

René Lévesque Park is an extremely good part of Montréal for getting around by car. Most homes for sale are a rather short car ride from the closest highway, and it is very easy to park. On the other hand, René Lévesque Park is not very transit friendly. There are relatively few pedestrians out on the streets of this part of Montréal, although most daily needs are easy to carry out without the use of a car. However, this neighbourhood is especially bicycling-friendly because bicycling is facilitated by the generally flat terrain, and this part of the city has a reasonably good cycling infrastructure.

Services

In all but a few cases, a vehicle is required to buy groceries. As far as education is concerned, this area does not have any high schools or primary schools. Likewise, it can be challenging to get to daycares as a pedestrian.

Character

People who prefer a relaxed environment will enjoy René Lévesque Park. This neighbourhood is very quiet, as noise from the streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue. Lastly, the greenery in this part of Montréal is reasonably prominent as the tree canopy coverage for the majority of streets is good. There are a few green spaces close by for residents to visit, such as Lieu Historique National du Canada du-Canal-de-Lachine and Parc René-Lévesque, which results in them being very easy to get to from most locations within the neighbourhood.

Housing

About 45% of properties in René Lévesque Park were constructed pre-1960, while many of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1960s and the 1990s. The majority of dwellings are small apartment buildings, making it easy to find apartments in this area, while duplexes and townhouses are also present in the housing stock. The split between homeowners and renters is about even. This neighbourhood is primarily composed of one bedroom and two bedroom homes.
