La Cité

The urban village of La Cité is part of the city of Gatineau, Quebec, which is situated in the Ottawa - Gatineau metropolitan area.

Transportation

La Cité will draw active people since it is reasonably suitable for biking. In particular, there are a limited number of hills for cyclists to brave, and the cycling network is reasonably comprehensive. A majority of the houses for sale in this urban village are located in areas that are also quite conducive to walking; many common errands can be run on foot. La Cité is not very transit friendly. Nonetheless, there are various rapid transit stations with access to the Pré Tunney, Rapibus 800 and Rapibus 400. The urban village is served by about 10 bus lines, and bus stops are generally nearby. However, moving around by car is especially convenient in La Cité. Nearby highways, such as Autoroute de l'Outaouais, are very easy to drive to from anywhere in this urban village, and it is easy to park.

Services

Families will appreciate that no matter where their home is located in La Cité, daycares and primary schools are nearby. In contrast, it can be difficult to reach high schools on foot. Concerning food, the closest supermarket in La Cité is generally only a rather short walk away. There are also a few options for those who value nearby restaurants and cafes.

La Cité is reasonably quiet, as the streets are peaceful - however some areas can be quite loud, especially closer to Autoroute de l'Outaouais or the railway line.
